There s a map of Rome below with a few attractions marked along with all the hotels on this list, so
There are plenty of places on earth where it s easy to imagine a romantic holiday or honeymoon, and others that require a little imagination to turn them into romantic destinations. Rome is a bit of both. It s Italy, and just about anywhere in Italy is going to be romantic enough for a honeymoon but it s also a big and bustling city that doesn t, on the surface, seem to have many of those quiet corners used lightweight travel trailers for sale that are ideal for snuggling with your partner and pretending the rest of the world doesn t exist. Rome isn t really into letting you forget it exists.
Of course, the words romantic hotels in Rome don t exactly conjure images of budget-friendly rooms, do they? There s a good reason for that. Romantic hotels are typically the ones with amenities cheap hotels could never dream of, personal service from attentive staff, and luxurious decorations. So on this list of romantic Rome hotels I ve split them into two groups reasonable splurges, and serious used lightweight travel trailers for sale splurges.
The former group is for those of you who are normally budget-conscious travelers who stay in 2-3 star hotels but want to do something a little more special. You probably won t fall over in shock at the nightly pricetags on these places. The latter group is for those of you who don t generally look at the nightly pricetag to begin with. I d advise you budget travelers not to look at those serious splurges, lest you spit whatever you re drinking all over your computer. And I m sorry, you serious cheapo travelers, there are no hostels in Rome on this list. The term romantic hostel just conjures up a totally used lightweight travel trailers for sale different image, I think you ll agree.
There s a map of Rome below with a few attractions marked along with all the hotels on this list, so you can see just where they are in the city. To get more information about any hotel, just click on the icon on the map or scroll down to read a brief description about the hotel.
The Bailey s Hotel in Rome isn t too far from sights like Villa Borghese and the Spanish Steps , but it s not priced in another used lightweight travel trailers for sale stratosphere especially when you re considering used lightweight travel trailers for sale what you get for your money. The hotel is in a 19th century former palazzo which has been converted into an elegant boutique hotel.
There are 29 rooms in the hotel, all of which have private bathrooms, A/C, satellite TV, and internet access. A full buffet breakfast is included with the room, and there s an on-site bar where you can get a drink before bed. Room service is available from 07:00 until 23:00, if you d prefer to take your meals in your room.
The Beldes H.R. Guest House is the only one on this list on the Vatican City side of the Tevere, and it s about 1km from St. Peter s Square and very close to the Lepanto Metro stop. This is a new guest house in Rome, run by two young brothers who come from a hotelling family.
There are only 26 rooms in the hotel, so you can be assured of more personal used lightweight travel trailers for sale attention from the staff. All the rooms have private bathrooms, A/C, satellite TVs, and free high-speed internet access. The rooms are beautifully decoreated in a French provincial style, there s an on-site bar with a pool table, a private terrace and roof garden, and even a massage service. Oh, and breakfast is free, too.
On the map above, the Duke Hotel is the one that s the furthest from the historic city center so it better have something going for it or who would trek all the way out there, right? When you arrive, you ll understand. This is an elegant hotel that doesn t make you feel like you should have used the servant s entrance. It s beautiful, but it s not too beautiful, used lightweight travel trailers for sale y know what I mean?
There are 78 rooms in this boutique hotel, all of which have private bathrooms, A/C, satellite TV, and internet/WiFi access. Breakfast is free with the room, and there s also a free hotel shuttle that runs to the Via Veneto between the hours of 08:00 and 21:45. There s an on-site bar/restaurant and room service, and because most of the rooms also have a balcony used lightweight travel trailers for sale or terrace, you can have a romantic meal on the balcony in your room if you d like.
I love the name of this hotel the Stendhal Hotel because used lightweight travel trailers for sale it references the so-called syndrome wherein victims are overwhelmed by the beauty of something and fall ill as a result. How perfect for a romantic hotel in an overwhelming city! The hotel is near the Trevi Fountain , the Spanish Steps, the Villa Borghese, and some of Rome s most fancy shopping on the Via dei Condotti so finding used lightweight travel trailers for sale a spot nearby for a romantic moonlit stroll shouldn t be too much of a challenge.
There are 30 rooms in the hotel, all of which have private bathrooms, satellite TV and A/C. A continental breakfast is free with the room, and there s an on-site library as well as a bar for evening drinks. The decor is modern without being cold, but the best thing about this hotel really is the location.
One look at where the Hotel Lord Byron is on the map above and you ll see that people aren t staying here because of its central location. used lightweight travel trailers for sale It s anything but centrally-located. But it is a sumptuous boutique hotel that s absolutely worth the taxi fare to and from the city center (because if you can afford this place, you re not taking the Metro). One thing you ll love about the location is that it s on top of a hill, so you may end up with a stunning city view from your room s balcony or terrace. And that s pretty doggone used lightweight travel trailers for sale romantic.
There are 32 rooms, all of which have private bathrooms, A/C, and satellite TVs. The decor is Art Deco, the bathrooms are replete with marble, there s an on-site restaurant that s quite good, and the hotel runs a free shuttle to get you into the city and back. And did I mention that there s a doorman to greet you when you arrive? And he s wearing used lightweight travel trailers for sale white gloves?
The name of this hotel should tell you something about its location The Inn at the Spanish Steps isn t just saying they re near the famous Roman staircase. There are even rooms that will give you a lovely view of the stairs and the church at the top. But even if you don t spring for those rooms with a view, you re still a few steps away from not only the Spanish Steps but the hotel is located used lightweight travel trailers for sale right on one of Rome s most chic shopping streets. The location is tough to beat.
Not all the rooms in the hotel are in the same building, as there s a nearby annex with some rooms in it. Some of the rooms have frescoed used lightweight travel trailers for sale ceilings, used lightweight travel trailers for sale some have fireplaces, and all of them come with private bathrooms, A/C, and internet access. Breakfast is included with the room, and the hotel has a roof garden which is ideal for breakfast or enjoying a drink as the sun sets over Rome.
Not far from the Roman Forum is the Caesar House Residenze Romane but not only is it across the street from the former center of the Roman Empire, some of the rooms even have views overlooking the Forum. This hotel calls itself a B B, and with only six rooms you can kind of understand why. But it s probably more accurate to describe it as a small boutique used lightweight travel trailers for sale hotel.
Each room is individually-decorated and features high ceilings, private bathrooms, satellite TVs, A/C and internet access. You can have breakfast in the breakfast room or brought to your room for a more private experience. There s an on-site bar/lounge, and you can even enjoy a soak in the Turkish bath or get a massage. But is there anything more dreamy than walking back to your hotel after a day sightseeing only to open your window and watch the sun set over the Roman Forum?
Run by the same group that brings you The Inn at the Spanish Steps, The Inn at the Roman Forum offers the same kind of perks. It s basically around the corner from one of the most popular attractions in Rome but still makes you feel like you re tucked away in a quiet part of the city that s all yours. There are only 14 rooms in the hotel, used lightweight travel trailers for sale all of which have private bathrooms (some with jacuzzis), satellite TVs, A/C and free WiFi access.
What this little hotel offers in its basement, however, is something you re unlikely to find in every hotel basement. They call it the Cryptoporticus and it s a part of the excavated Trajan s Marketplace that dates back more than 2,000 years. So you can be excited about the hotel s roof garden or the free breakfast and WiFi, but tell me about another used lightweight travel trailers for sale hotel with a basement crypt. (Okay, so a basement crypt doesn t exactly scream used lightweight travel trailers for sale romantic, but you can ignore that the crypt is even there and the rest of the hotel is absolutely romantic. Just don t tell your squeamish partner about what s underground.)
And if you re blowing your travel budget on one of these romantic spots, you might want to be even more careful about finding a good deal on airfare. Italy is notoriously expensive when it comes to airfare, but flights to Rome don t have to make you go into debt. Do your research so you know what to look out for.

The dollar to euro rate could be better, but it is enjoying a relatively favorable exchange recently, so why not book a trip to Rome? There are thousands of accommodations to choose motel rates in monterey california from, ranging from dingy hostels to overblown 5-star luxury hotels. Narrowing down the options can seem daunting, so here are some recommendations, from self catering apartments to five-star digs.
The Beehive : Americans Steve and Linda offer friendly, eco-conscious accommodations of varying types in the Esquilino neighborhood. Private rooms (from €70), dorm beds (from €20), and self-catering apartments (from €180 per apartment).
Albergo Santa Chiara : A labyrinthine three-star just one block from the Pantheon. If you want to be in the heart of the historic center with restaurants, motel rates in monterey california wine bars, and shops at your fingertips, this is the place.
Hotel Raphael motel rates in monterey california : A five-star hotel and veritable art museum located just steps from Piazza Navona. The roof-top bar and restaurant motel rates in monterey california has amazing views and is a lovely place to grab a drink whether you are a guest or not.
Villa Spalletti Trivelli : Elegantly decorated motel rates in monterey california rooms and suites, a spa and a private garden make this luxurious villa on the slopes of the Quirinal Hill a unique destination. Proximity to Monti is a bonus.
Here are a few other budget accommodations that I inspected and wrote about for Budget motel rates in monterey california Travel and have excellent motel rates in monterey california guest feedback on travel forums: Hotel Grifo in Monti, La Casa di Amy in the Esquiline district, Hotel Paba in Monti and Hotel Santa Maria in Trastevere.
Thanks for this list it ll be very helpful for our next time there. This past vacation we stayed at Hotel Raphael s sister hotel Hotel Raffaelo, near St.Maria Maggiore, so we had access to their roof top bar. It was perfect for our before dinner drinks we almost moved over. We also stayed at the St. Anselmo when we returned to Rome a week later and really liked it there. A little out of the way but they had parking and were in a perfect spot for walks into Testaccio. Thanks again for this list.
I d recommend looking at realrome.com for self-catering apartments and studios. For example, their Cappellari studios are two minutes stroll from Campo de Fiori but (usually) undisturbed by the unfortunate aspects of life there now. Cappellari itself is still an authentic Roman neighbourhood. Second floor apartments in a mediaeval building. Not really suited to family holidays but ideal for couples. Obligatory declaration of interest: the owners are friends of mine but it s still a really good deal for a good location.
Hi Katie got your site through the Guardian travel section on food in Rome . Our small group is travelling to Italy in September 2015 and I was delighted to also find your app on Rome which will come in very handy. I was looking to find a hotel in the trastevere area, but of course, your Santa Maria was totally booked. Is the 3-star hotel trastevere near the plaza a good choice? It is an exceedingly difficult area to find rooms even 8 months in advance!

Lush landscapes, stunning monuments, car rentals in philadelphia suburbs exciting history, beautiful art, mouthwatering food and free-flowing wine make Rome one of the most popular car rentals in philadelphia suburbs destinations in the world—and also one of the priciest. But a trip to the Eternal City doesn’t have to be expensive. Underneath the luxury hotels and vineyard tours is a city that runs on middle class citizens who spend little, yet still manage to live la dolce vita .
Rome has some of the best fresh food markets in the world, with vendors selling everything from porchetta to fresh mozzarella, and of course heaps of vibrant produce. car rentals in philadelphia suburbs Stock up on blood oranges for breakfast or hunks of cheese and fresh baked bread for a picnic lunch. The vendors bring their products straight from their farms, so you know it’s good. Plus, the price is much cheaper car rentals in philadelphia suburbs than restaurants or even the grocery store. The atmosphere, a bustle of bargaining and banter and a true taste of local life, is an added bonus.
If you’re staying in the city center, check out the open-air weekend market in Campo dei Fiori , or if you’re near the Vatican, head to Mercato car rentals in philadelphia suburbs Trionfale . That said, eating out every meal on vacation takes a significant chunk of your budget, so follow these tips to save money on every meal, without sacrificing the good stuff.
At restaurants, ask for tap water instead car rentals in philadelphia suburbs of bottled, and say no to bread, which can cost you €2-3 per person. If possible, car rentals in philadelphia suburbs steer clear of places where the menu is listed in more than two or three languages—one, because car rentals in philadelphia suburbs it’s less authentic, and two, because touristy places hike up their prices. As a general rule, most good restaurants list pasta for €8-11, and pizza from €6-10. Sides are usually less than €10. There are special cases, of course, but unless the restaurant has rave reviews or a Michelin Star to its name, you shouldn’t pay anything higher.
When it comes to wine, if you’re an enthusiast, you’ll probably want to try a few special local bottles while in Italy. To save money, alternate between car rentals in philadelphia suburbs a nice bottle and liters of house wine, which run from €6-10, and are often better quality than pricier bottles in the US.
For inexpensive meals, grab something to go. Rome is full of amazing sandwich shops where a panini will cost about €5 or less, and take-away pizza, or pizza al taglio , is everywhere. Grab a slice and people watch from one of the many piazzas or parks.
The same goes for drinking. Act like a real Roman and buy a bottle of wine from a mini market (they’ll be happy to open it for you and provide plastic cups), then hang out on the Spanish Steps or the Fountain car rentals in philadelphia suburbs of Madonna dei Monti. You’ll get a taste of authentic Italian nightlife from the groups that gather in these areas every night, and the drinks will be half the price of a restaurant.
If you’re in Italy for an extended amount of time and want to learn Italian, or even if you’re visiting for a week and want to master some basic phrases, consider a language exchange. Instead of paying for lessons, you and an Italian native speaker will practice Italian and English over coffee or apertivo . It’s a nice way to learn the language and make friends at the same time. Your new language partner might even have local tips or show you an area of the city you would have missed car rentals in philadelphia suburbs otherwise.
Often, the most expensive part of a visit to Rome is accommodation. car rentals in philadelphia suburbs Huge demand allows hotels to charge ridiculous car rentals in philadelphia suburbs prices for tiny rooms, especially if they’re in central car rentals in philadelphia suburbs locations. Luckily, the need for budget accommodation has caught the attention of many independent business owners, and Rome is now bursting with budget hotel options. Similarly, Italian families with houses or rooms to spare have turned their guesthouses into adorable bed breakfasts.
These hotel owners put their hearts into their businesses and are proud of showing off their city, so by renting from them you save money and end up with a more memorable experience. At EuroCheapo, we ve spent many years hunting down the best small and affordable places to stay in Rome—check out this list of our favorite budget hotels .
Rome certainly has its share of high-end designer stores. All you have to do is stroll down via Condotti to find yourself in a sea of Armani, Bulgari, and Dolce Gabbana. But with a little looking, you can find your own designer car rentals in philadelphia suburbs goods for a fraction of the price. Check out Rome’s array of vintage stores for steals on leather jackets, designer jewels, classic handbags, suits that never go out of style and a mix of funky t-shirts and other unique finds.
The Monti neighborhood has three vintage stores on via del Boschetto and one on via dei Serpenti. If you’re in the center, head to the Borghetto Flaminio Market , (Piazza della Marina, 32), for a treasure car rentals in philadelphia suburbs trove of clothing, accessories and household goods.
Plan your trip ahead of time, so you can make the most of your time without spending a fortune. Take a few hours to walk through the city, a better way to see the sights car rentals in philadelphia suburbs than any paid tour. During your stroll, make stops at the Pantheon , Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain , all of which are iconic, beautiful and best of all, 100% free.
The Vatican is a must, but can be expensive and time consuming. Plan to get there early in the morning to beat the lines, and if you can, visit on the last Sunday of the month, when entrance is free.
Rome is home to spectacular artwork, but seeing it all can be costly. Once a year, Rome’s car rentals in philadelphia suburbs museums open up for La Notte dei Musei, or The Night of the Museums, an all-night affair where every museum is open to the public with free admission. The Castel Sant’Angelo, also known as the Mausoleum of Hadrian, towers over the Tiber River, and a trip to the top provides staggeringly beautiful views of the city. Entrance to the castle, a guided tour, and the concert is only €10. Check out the complete program of this summer’s concerts.
Taxis are expensive and almost guaranteed to try and rip you off at least once during your stay. A better option is is public transit like the metro, which covers the main tourist attractions, or the bus lines, which are more comprehensive. While you might spend a few extra minutes waiting for your bus to actually show up, the €1.50 fare is a much better alternative to a taxi. At night, for example, taxis start at €6, just for getting in the car!
Similarly, if you’re heading out of the city, consider taking car rentals in philadelphia suburbs the regional trains. The fast trains are Italy’s pride, and they are admittedly very nice, but they’re often two or three times the price of a regional train to the same destination. Build some extra time in your schedule so you can take the regional train, or if you want to take the fast trains, book online at least a month in advance to get a discount fare. (Tickets can be booked on trenitalia.com , or italotreno.it ).
