Strait s upcoming tour is pegged to be in celebration of his storied career in country music. He has set over 20 concert dates in 2013 and plans are for 20 more performances the following year in 2014. This will be like a 2 year going away party for George who is amicably referred to as King George by the country music crowd.

George has said that he will continue to record songs and appear live on occasion, but at a more relaxed pace.
