Great blog! Question for you I stay at a Garden Inn property 1-2 nights every week at a rate of $109 and am Diamond status (although that might be resetting with the onset of the new year?). I currently double dip with American Airlines and HHonors points. The transferring of points from Virgin Atlantic back to HHonors is confusing to me. Is the maximum amount of transfer 10,000 TOTAL or just PER transfer? In other words, would you suggest just sticking with my current double dip option (AA and HHonors) or switching to Virgin Atlantic and transferring to HHonors points?

thanks for the reply! I ultimately want to maximize both my miles and HHonors points. That is why I double dip with AA and HHonors points. I don t fly often, car rentals in ireland so I obtain my AA miles from my Hilton stays. I have about $20K AA points accumulated from my hotel stays alone. If I were to convert the VS miles to HHonors points, each stay would be worth 2,000 points. Versus if I were to double points by itself, each stay would only be worth how many points? That is where I m confused.
