Once approved, the two carriers plan to sell codeshare flights for travel beginning in April 2015. The new agreement will allow Korean Air SKYPASS members to earn miles when traveling on American-operated flights between DFW and ICN.
American currently operates daily flights between Dallas and Seoul, whereas Korean operates four weekly flights during the winter and upgauges the route to daily starting March 29, 2015. American entered the DFW-ICN market in May of 2013, and has been seeking ways to grow their customer base in Asia as the airline has pushed west from Dallas and expanded with multiple new routes to Asia.

@Matt, it's hard to say. Delta and Korean air are the two largest TPAC airlines nascar las vegas tickets after United, and Korean Air connects Asia to more North American Destinations then any other airline. A tie up with AA would be in KE favor as Delta continues to snub KE (After all DL tried to buy a stake in JAL a few years back which was the icing on the cake for KE). I would love to see KE in OneWorld with the more distinguished carriers and I think KE would thrive with OW, but I won't count my eggs before they hatch. OW should be more focused on Hainan airlines and Africa growth.
