The recession hit in December 2007, and California has now added 475,300 jobs since the recovery started in September 2009. California's string of year-over-year jobs gains date back to August 2010, the state said.
The job numbers for the past two months are finally something to get excited about, said Stephen Levy, director and senior economist of the Center for Continuing Study of the California Economy in Palo Alto.
Between May and June reports, seven sectors added a total of 46,600 jobs while four sectors shed 8,300 positions statewide. The trade, travel costa rica transportation and utilities sector posted the biggest gain, 9,400 jobs, while manufacturing posted the biggest loss, 4,400 jobs.
On a year-over-year travel costa rica basis the beleaguered construction sector and the information sector posted the largest gains on a percentage basis, both up 5 percent, adding travel costa rica 27,200 and 21,700 jobs, respectively, the state said.

"We still have the national and European headwinds but what this does take off the plate is the notion that California and L.A. are lagging regions. That's not true.
