@willowl: As you may have noticed, there are no buses that run from BH to lower Manhattan on the normal timetable. I believe that on the shuttles there will be only one stop in Manhattan, which will be on the Lower East Side where you can connect with buses that will take you north. If you need to get from Brooklyn to the West Side of Manhattan or the Financial District by bus, I think you re still screwed!
