If you find yourself visiting Toronto, Ontario there is a hotel which is a must stop in and see known as The Drake Hotel located on Queen Street West. You will notice the outside of the building may seem a bit old, but don t that fool you about what is inside. This building was built back in 1890, and been home to a couple different hotels. These hotels were known as Small s Hotel (1890-1949) as well as The Drake (1949-1970 s).
During the 1970 s till Jeff Stober the current owner bought the building in 2001 there was a lot turn over in the building. it became a flophouse for many years as well as punk bar for some years. Jeff and his crew remodeled the interior of the building and in 2004 re-opened as The Drake Hotel. Its just not a 19 room hotel, it has a music bar which houses Elvis Mondays, as well as a cafe which turns into a bistro at night. Be sure to visit the roof top patio to get a nice view over the general area.
