One of the arguments that Virgin America CEO David Cush is using against Southwest Airlines and Delta Air Lines is that Virgin would make better use of the two gates it is seeking at Dallas Love Field.
So that’s more revenue for Love Field and more revenue for the concessions at Love Field and more importantly, a bigger fare impact because it is more new seats coming into the market than what the other two carriers airline reservation system using uml class diagrams could provide, Cush told us in an interview.
First, Delta. It plans 22 flights to five cities: six on the 110-seat Boeing 717 and 16 on 76-seat Bombardier airline reservation system using uml class diagrams or Embraer regional jets. That amounts to 1,876 seats arriving and departing at Love Field.
Let’s say Southwest will operate 18 flights, same as Virgin America. If it uses its aircraft with 143 seats, its Boeing 737-300s and 737-700s, that would come to 2,574 seats. If it uses its aircraft with 175 seats, the Boeing 737-800s, that would come to 3,150 seats. If it uses half and half, that would 2,862 seats.
But based on that 10:1 ratio, let’s say Southwest would have 16 flights on its 737-300s and 737-700s and two flights on its larger 737-800. In that instance, Southwest airline reservation system using uml class diagrams would operate 2,638 seats each way daily, or 10 more than Virgin America. airline reservation system using uml class diagrams Let’s call that one a draw.
It also is very busy between 5 p.m. and 5:35 p.m. It has flights arriving at 5 p.m. from New York and Los Angeles, and departing at 5:25 p.m. for Detroit, 5:30 p.m. for New York and 5:35 p.m. for Los Angeles. (That seems to add up to more than two gates.)
