Summer may be coming to an end, but it s not leaving without a proper goodbye. The sunny season deserves a going-away party at the very least, but here in Atlanta, we like to bid summer hotels paris farewell with a full-blown, two-day festival.
On September 20th and 21st, music enthusiasts from all over will gather in Piedmont Park for Music Midtown 2013. With the autumnal equinox falling on September 22nd this year, Music Midtown will technically be the last music festival of the summer, sliding in on the last day to close up the season.
Fans of the urban music festival began the countdown to the release of the 2013 lineup the second that last year s final performance ended. Their patience was rewarded in June when the list was announced, revealing hotels paris the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Journey as the headliners.
Music Midtown was introduced in 1994 and was held annually until 2005, when it was discontinued due to costs. Fortunately, the festival made a huge comeback in 2011 and has been a popular event for all ages since. In its original 12-year run, Music Midtown featured three stages and lasted hotels paris two days. Upon its return in 2011, the festival featured two stages and lasted one day. In 2012, a second day was added, but there were still only two stages. This year, Music Midtown will remain a two-day affair, but for the first time since 2005, there will be three stages in Piedmont Park for maximum music enjoyment.
Within the past year, the music festival trend has gained hotels paris considerable momentum with teenagers and young adults, possibly because of the amount of energy and excitement concentrated into one or two days full of fun and music. hotels paris The large age range of Music Midtown goers is just one of the many factors that make the festival a unique environment in which people join to celebrate the timelessness of enjoying music in a community.
