The falls behind us It's the start of winter. gulf of mexico vacation rentals Terry and I decided to spend a few days away in Niagara Falls before we travelled onwards to visit family for Christmas. The waterfall has a special place in our hearts. It's the location of our very first date in 2006.
Although we have been to the falls a few times now, we still always find new and exciting treasures, like the Hersey Chocolate Shop. But, despite all the endless museums, Festival of Lights, casinos, and themed restaurants, the wonder-of-the-world waterfalls are still the sweetest eye candy.
Ice dipped tree branches and massive clouds of steam are ample reward gulf of mexico vacation rentals for braving the cold and frosty walkways during this season. It's also the quietest time to go, with a lack of lineups at the Bird Kingdom, Ripley's Believe It or Not museum and Louis Tussaud's Waxworks.
However, we were disappointed by the Skylon Tower. It does not live up to all the positive hype. The lower level of the tower is in need of huge repairs and updating. Furthermore, once you step outside from the tourist focused gulf of mexico vacation rentals downtown, you see a lot of run-down and derelict buildings.
The Ontario ice storm on Lundy Lane. This hotel allows pets with an extra cost of $25 dollars per night. Terry and I had brought our little Pug along. It's hard to find a good quality hotel in this region that will allow pets at an affordable cost.
During our stay, it was also the time of the massive ice storm. This is still running on the news. The temperatures were plummeting to – 12 and lower, with rain. Clinging ice on trees caused branches to fall onto Hydro lines knocking them over.
Terry and I were walking our dog and heard crackling. Terry looked gulf of mexico vacation rentals up and pointed to me. A few meters gulf of mexico vacation rentals from where we stood, a Hydro line was burning. I shouted gulf of mexico vacation rentals to Terry "RUN!" We sprinted down the road and the next thing the whole power line explodes. BANG.
Luckily, some Hydro workers were not too far away dealing with another fallen tree over a power line. We informed them about the explosion and where it took place. Our hotel had not been affected, but the houses all around had lost all power.
If you visit the falls in summer, it's still beautiful and more attractions are open like MarineLand. You can also see all the gardens in their full glory. However, this season brings a traffic storm of tourists. Previous Entry
