The Culinary Institute of America, or CIA, doesn't train secret agents, but it does develop students into talented chefs. Make the most of your trip to the Culinary Institute of America by going on a student-led tour of campus. Public tours take place Monday through Friday at 4:00 p.m. and also Monday at 10:00 a.m. Tours are just $6 per person, and reservations are required, so be sure to schedule your spot ahead of time.
At the end of your tour, be sure to stop at the bookstore, where you'll find a wide range of cookbooks—over 1,000 titles. You can also purchase other culinary items, including professional cookware and utensils, gourmet food, and CIA college merchandise.
While visiting the Culinary Institute of America in New York, enjoy a delicious meal at one of the restaurants on campus. These award-winning restaurants are staffed by CIA students, and each serves different kinds of food.
If visiting the Culinary Institute of America gets you in the mood to cook, consider taking a CIA gourmet cooking or baking class. The CIA offers courses on a wide variety of topics, including "Poultry: From Roosters to Roasters," "The Flavors of Asia," "Gluten-Free Baking," and "Chocolates and Confections at Home." Courses usually take place on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. and cost $250 per person, so drive up to CIA for the day in your Range Rover rental and learn to cook like a pro.
