It s almost summer time and vacations are just around the corner.  So, it s time to start getting everything ready and set for a fun relaxing trip, either budget friendly, affordable travel or luxury all the way.
By now you ve probably done most of your research and planning and you should either have your tickets in hand or lining up your super savers and ready to jump on those discounts and deals.  So, I thought hampton beach hotels I would take the opportunity to recap some of the last minute tips we all need to keep in mind so that the great trip you ve planned is not only safe and secure but fun, adventurous and filled with wonderful memories!
2.  Customer Service Program ALL customer service numbers into your smartphone, hotel, hampton beach hotels airlines, excursion companies, resorts, etc., both domestic and international numbers.  This is where an ounce of prevention is worth 100 pounds of cure.  If you get delayed on a flight or anywhere and are standing hampton beach hotels in line with 100 other people, but you have the customer service number in your phone, you can start calling for assistance the minute you know there s an issue long before everyone else has a chance to get service and take that last seat, room or flight.  You should stand in line AND be chatting with customer service for options hampton beach hotels and remedy.  Best plan of action!
3.  Delays this is in addition to #2 above don t be in such a hurry to take the first offer, especially if the issue is their fault.  Most company hampton beach hotels s first offer is not their best.  Be ready to ask what else can you do for me to compensated this inconvenience to our long awaited vacation .  It works, be prepared to negotiate!
hampton beach hotels 4.  Make copies of all important papers (driver license, passport, insurance card, tickets, etc.) and put them in a safe place.  I make three copies of everything, a copy for each person s luggage and a spare in my carry-on hampton beach hotels (tote).  But remember, we only use Pacsafe luggage products, so I don t worry about the contents, hampton beach hotels just the bag disappearing.  If you ever have your passport lost or stolen you will find out in a heartbeat how painful it is to get home or where you are going.
5.  Plan to use the accommodations safe or hotel vault.  If on a cruise ship, put everything of value, including documents, in the safe and keep it there.  If at a hotel or resort, same theory. hampton beach hotels It s not that you may not trust the staff, but why tempt fate.  Be safe!
6.  Contact your bank and any credit cards you plan (or emergency backup) to use and advise them of your travel plans.  Make sure they annotate your file and put an alert on your accounts.  This will not only help protect both you and the bank, but when you use your cards out of town or out of the country they will know it s you and approve your transactions.  Also, make sure you have their customer service numbers in your phone, both domestic and international, hampton beach hotels in the event something goes wrong. hampton beach hotels Be prepared!
7.  You may not realize this one is real, but it is bogus ATMs are everywhere.  Make sure when you go to use a machine that it looks untampered with and in original condition.  Thieves are excellent at hiding and embedding readers and webcams in ATMs to steal your numbers and codes.  Be careful!
8.  Watch for crowds and pickpockets everywhere you go, they really do exist.  I posted a video here a few months back on pickpockets, I hope you did or will watch it.  These people can ruin your vacation in a flash of a second and you re not the wiser until it s too late.
9.  Arrive early.  This may seem like a no brainer, but you would be surprised how many people are running to catch a plane or embarkation or security at the last possible minute.  Not only may you miss your connection or destination, but this will also cause you to be a bit harried and frustrated and can set you up for agitation, anxiety and discomfort a terrible way to start your wonderful relaxing vacation.
10. Delayed or lost luggage.  Most people have experienced one of these some time in their travels, they are not fun at all.  And for a vacation it can be devastating.  We once had a Princess cruise that lost my only checked through bag for 3 days of a 14 day cruise, any idea what it s like to have nothing on a cruise ship except hampton beach hotels what s in your tote?  Miserable!!  But here s a great tip if you are flying, the Department of Transportation, DOT, has a rule regarding delayed or lost luggage, Code of Federal Regulations, Title 14, Part 254 which states ANY airline flying in or out of the US must provide on the spot remedy for necessary items immediately not 24 hours later like they try to tell you.  If your luggage is delayed, lost or damaged, they are required to assist with necessary items immediately, like some clothes toiletries.  But you will have to site this law, or they will blow you off.  So, remember Code of Federal Regulations, Title 14, Part 254.  When you have no clothes in Rome or Atlanta or NYC, it helps to know this and use it!
Well, that covers some basics to help get your plans ready and remember some safety tips.  Whether you are taking an affordable travel, budget travel or a vacation of a lifetime, be prepared for the unexpected.  Summer is great family time and can be filled with memories, adventures and sharing for a lifetime.
