In partnership with National Car Rental, with the goal of helping you be a Healthy Business Traveler, I wanted to follow up to my video the other day on how to incorporate a little fitness into your travels.
I feel like one of the most major questions when it comes to travel, is how on Earth to eat healthily while you're out. Honestly, after years of frustration on this front, I've learned the hard way how to handle this. I think I've got a few quick tips that'll not only leave you enjoying your trip, but also help you avoid feeling like you've got to pay penance to the treadmill when you return:
1)   When dining out, stick to the three main food groups: fruits, veggies, and lean sources downtown hotel in toronto of protein. If you opt to go outside of those three, do it mindfully – don't just wing it at every meal, and then come home wondering why you gained weight. It's one thing to decide – mindfully – that this is going to be your opportunity to play Official Taste Tester and try all kinds of new things, unrestricted. It's another thing entirely to dive into every opportunity to overindulge without thinking clearly.
2)   Stay strapped with snacks! Sometimes, business travel can be unpredictable. You might not be able to dine exactly when you expected, meetings may run long, you might get stuck in traffic… anything downtown hotel in toronto can happen, and you're at the mercy of a business downtown hotel in toronto schedule. How do you prepare?
I've also long shared my love of dehydrated fruit – not only because downtown hotel in toronto it's delicious, but also because it provides the energy needed to focus and stay alert in a business meeting. Fresh fruit is ideal, but not always doable. At least with dehydrated fruit, you can store it away for safe keeping in your bag, without worrying downtown hotel in toronto too much about spoilage.
Lastly, if all else fails, before you hit the road, grab a trail mix or a trail mix bar with low sugar, one of my favorites being the Nuts and Spices line from KIND, and stash that away for safe keeping… and healthy eating.
Push ups, mountain climbers, running up and down stairs, jogging your newfound city… these are all valuable options downtown hotel in toronto for getting and staying fit as a Healthy Business Traveler… and Steve and Bonnie will share more with you about that, next!
I am always stocked up or snacking downtown hotel in toronto on the Kind bars. Now I must get a water bottle. Hopefully my trips will consist of alot of outdoor activities. My goal is to eat better while on vacation downtown hotel in toronto and give up the big portions of food especially if i go to restaurants even the healthy restaurants. Need to try the dehydrated fruit!!
Great to see National Car Rental reaching out to someone downtown hotel in toronto with expertise to help with what can be a real problem. I know from my time doing so called fad diets like Atkins that being on the road makes it almost impossible but as evidenced by some of your tips, it certainly is possible to at least eat reasonably healthily and avoid the ever present temptation to opt for fast food. I guess planning is the key.
