In an effort to cut costs, Gray Line New York Sightseeing and CitySights NY, announced today that they have combined operations. The new company, with gross assets of more than $28 million and more than 100 vehicles, will be called Twin America.
This merger will increase our range of services and give us the ability to offer more affordably priced tour services to meet the needs of the touring public, said Mark Marmurstein, president of CitySights NY, who will head the joint venture.
The move comes as the global economic crisis is putting a dent in New Yorks long tourism boom. The number of tourists expected in the city this year is around 44.5 million, 5% fewer than last year, according the NYC & Company, the citys tourism bureau.
