Normally these surveys are done over the phone, those that want to leave Haiti don't even have phones. do you know ANYTHING about a survey? any idea how it is done? there can be a response to the question only if contact is made. so, if they only contact 1000 people, they take those responses and extrapolate from that to get the poll figures. jeez, man. this is elementary brock plaza hotel stuff. Report as spam/innapropiate Written by: Lautaro , 31 Mar 2013 5:18 PM From: Dominican Republic, Santo Domingo Well, the pertinent question here is if Haiti was among the 154 or so countries included in the so called poll. Given the warnings the DOS have issued to USAmericans in the past (and present) about travelling to the country (at their own risk), I highly doubt it. If they only make contact with the wealthy Haitians which are the ones that have phones what will be the outcome? virtually all NOs, no we don't want to leave Haiti. I doubt that only 25% of Haitians want to go to the US. Maybe the rest want to go to France. Black Sugar - Nobody Knows I'm Here !!! Upon arrival, the workers' passports are confiscated and destroyed, rendering their holders stateless. Haitians fit and brave enough to flee are often caught, beaten, robbed and forced to pay a fine to regain the very job they sought to evade. If this sounds a lot like slavery it is actually worse. "Researchers have agreed on this," he says. "At least slave owners used to feed their slaves"......
It's certainly so for many of them, cuz' at the very least they get to eat here (or as we would say las tres calientes ). No such luck on their dear Quilombo. Just go ask any of them on the HOMS and the Dario Contreras, and see what they tell you. Heck, many of them even get to have cellphones, a luxury that only a selected few can give themselves back in their lakay.
