I saw that too JC and the drive to Venice is almost the same route we do when we go by car. It does make it quite an interesting break staying in hotels before arriving at the ship but I once took an Aunt on a trip to Brugge and found it quite frustrating how many comfort stops we had.
Another alternative to flying is to take the train to Venice. You can leave London in the afternoon and be in Venice the following morning taking the sleeper anchorage ak car rentals via Paris. Alternatively you can take a more leisurely route staying overnight en route. Either way, travel out early and enjoy a few days in Venice pre cruise.
Cruise . Co.uk sent out a simular brochure last this year it looked interesting to us , we prefer not to fly so catch would be a good alternative,but just wonder if we would really fancy that long a coach journey..Taffy
