There is so much of Northern California I haven t seen. My usual staycation haunts are San Francisco

It s that time of year when enough is enough. I m talking about winter. Granted, this year my homestate of Minnesota hasn t seen nearly the low temperatures that last year brought. Nevertheless, oceanfront hotels biloxi ms I m still already yearning oceanfront hotels biloxi ms for a warm(er) climate or at least some new scenery with some color and that s where Enterprise Rent-A-Car comes in. Being that we are leasing my minivan for the first time we need to monitor the miles we ve put on the car, especially after our roundtrip jaunt to Key West , Florida last summer. And lucky for us, Enterprise is everywhere, or so it seems. Here s an impressive stat: Enterprise Rent-A-Car has more than 5,500 neighborhood and airport branch offices located within 15 miles of 90 percent of the U.S. population. Whoa! That s easy access.
My family has certainly used Enterprise Rent-A-Car on our travels, usually picking the car up at the airport of our destination, but most recently my husband suggested we rent a car for our future road trips. After all, renting a car means we could opt for an automobile that has better gas milage, is larger, has four-wheel drive or fun (think convertible okay maybe not now with the baby, but one day). The bonus being not adding miles to our car as well as the wear and tear a road trip adds to a car.
Not to mention, we ve experienced some not-so-great moments on the road. Many years ago my husband and I took a long road trip from Tucson, Arizona to St. Paul, Minnesota. It was Halloween and the moon was full. Our first day (night by then) we were cruising through Colorado when our tire rolled over something sharp. Within minutes Jeff was on the ground changing oceanfront hotels biloxi ms the tire with the help of that bright moon. We had rented a car for the drive and luckily we didn t have to sit around and wait for the new tire to be replaced (two years ago that did happen to us in Indiana on a Sunday). With the rental car we simply exchanged the car at the next car rental location in Colorado Springs and kept trucking.
In addition to all of these perks the biggest one is cost savings. Flying a family of five doesn t compare to the budget friendly alternative of renting a car. Plus, we have so much fun discovering local eateries and silly roadside attractions.
If it weren t for our upcoming move we d be headed down to Louisiana for my favorite season Mardi Gras. While I grew up in the Deep South, my family has never been down there to experience a Mardi Gras parade, crawfish boil or anything that is quintessential Louisiana, except King Cakes that is. I can t wait to introduce them to the thrill that is Mardi Gras. The whimsical floats, shiny beads, lively music and, of course, authentic Cajun food. My goodness the gumbo, fried seafood, and, my favorite, crawfish etouffee with lemon. I know they would love it. A road trip to Louisiana with a side trip to Kansas City along with a stop at The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art for a Shuttlecocks photo-op would certainly oceanfront hotels biloxi ms make for a fun winter getaway. Just writing about it makes me want to pack our purple, green and gold clothes and hit the road. How about you? Where are you ready to go with Enterprise this winter?
There is so much of Northern California I haven t seen. My usual staycation oceanfront hotels biloxi ms haunts are San Francisco and Sacramento, and Lake Tahoe every once in a blue moon. I would love to road trip north of the Golden Gate Bridge to the Mendocino coast and beyond.
I m in Northern California and would love to take a road trip to Southern California to see all of the touristy stuff. I ve been there before, but it s been many years and there are still so many things I haven t seen there.
