Wow I am starting to get nervous about leaving from this port! In the looking for Carnival assistance forum there has been 2 cases within the last week or so of people getting their wallets/purses stolen and having no id to get on the ship! The did both make it on when family sent an old passport (for photo purposes) and the local police sent the ship a copy of photo id s but wow....

Leaving on 11/25/2012...not going to let this change anything, but it does make me a bit edgy! Was just weird hearing about 2 cases so close together on this forum.....we cervia hotel italy will also be in a group of 12 so that should help

Just use caution. My boss sailed out of NOLA in July. She stayed at a hotel the night before and her car was broken into. The hotel had a gated parking lot with a security guard, but she left her luggage in the car and it was visable from outside the car.

Been to NOLA several times with no problems. When cruising, we have gone straight to the terminal, haven t stayed cervia hotel italy there prior to the cruise. At the cruise terminal parking garage, my purse was left in my car s opened trunk. Of course we didn t know that until we returned from our cruise. Everything was still there. Even staying visiting Bourbon St, we ve never had any issues. As mentioned before, be aware of your surroundings and make sure you know where your wallet or purse is at all times. I would encourage you to enjoy the city. It has alot to offer.
