Old Katonah was the town that was flooded in order to make the new Croton dam for New York City water. In 1896 through 1910, the old town of Katonah, which stood in the way of the new dam, had its property condemned and auctioned orlando hotel deals off. Some of the people, who had had their property condemned, bought them back, and then moved their homes to higher ground. One family, the Chapmans, even lived in their house while it was being moved.
