For my second Back to Basics post I decided talk about the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) .  I'm gonna talk a bit about the  airport's location  and the best ways to get from the airport to the city.
Los Angeles International Airport was the sixth busiest airport in the world in 2012. It has 9 passenger terminals, and is located hertzrent a car history about 16 miles or 26 km from downtown LA and about 24 miles or 39km from Hollywood.
Since the airport is located considerably far from the city taking a cab is quite expensive. The estimated taxi fare from LAX to Downtown hertzrent a car history LA or Hollywood is about $60, not considering LA's crazy traffic!! If you choose to take a taxi from Los Angeles International Airport to your destination in LA you should go to the Yellow sign located curbside on the Lower/Arrival Level islands in front of each terminal . But there are cheaper options than taking a taxi!! One of the options is taking a door-to-door hertzrent a car history van from companies such as Roadrunner Shuttle .   A ride to Downtown LA using this company costs about  $32! I have used this service many times and the staff is very friendly and efficient. I recommend it! If you choose this option you should make an online reservation and once you arrive at the airport, call and let them know you arrived. Then wait under the Green sign located on the Lower/Arrival Level islands in front of each terminal . The sign looks like this:
Renting a car is also a good option! Especially because public transportation in Los Angeles is not very efficient! There are several rental car companies that operate out of LAX. I will talk more about my favorite rental companies some other day, but for now its is good to know that some of the rental companies provide free pick-up  and drop-off . For these shuttles wait under the Purple sign located on the Lower/Arrival Level islands in front of each terminal . The sign looks like this:
If you are staying at any major airport area hotel you can also take a free hotel shuttle from the terminal to your hotel. For these shuttles just wait under the Red sign located on the Lower/Arrival Level islands in front of each terminal . The sign looks like this:

Para o meu segundo post resolvi falar sobre o Aeroporto Internacional de Los Angeles, conhecido como LAX.  Eu vou explicar um pouco sobre a localização do aeroporto e as melhores maneiras de ir de lá para Los Angeles.
Já que o aeroporto fica bem longuinho do centro de L.A, pegar um taxi é uma opção cara. A corrida de taxi do LAX para o centro de L.A ou para Hollywood custa mais ou menos $60 dólares. Isso sem contar com o trânsito maluco da cidade!! Se mesmo assim você decidir pegar um taxi do aeroporto para o seu destino em L.A, os taxis se encontram embaixo da placa amarela localizada hertzrent a car history em frente de cada terminal no piso inferior/ chegada.
Pra quem quer economizar existem outras opções bem mais em conta que pegar um taxi!! Uma dessas opções são as companhias de van que buscam no aeroporto e te deixam no seu destino. Na Roadrunner Shuttle , por exemplo,   a viagem do aeroporto para o centro custa uns $32 dólares! hertzrent a car history Eu já usei essa companhia várias vezes e sempre fui extremamente bem tratada. Eles sempre chegam no horário hertzrent a car history e são muito simpáticos. Eu recomendo! Alugar um carro também é uma boa opção, já que o transporte público em Los Angeles não é lá essa maravilha! Existem várias locadoras de automóveis próximas do aeroporto hertzrent a car history (Eu vou falar mais sobre as minhas locadoras preferidas um outro dia). Algumas locadoras tem um ônibus hertzrent a car history (shuttle) de graça que transporta clientes dos terminais para as locadoras. Se você estiver hospedado em um hotel das grandes cadeias, como Hilton ou Hyatt, localizado perto do aeroporto, você tem a opção de pegar um shuttle do hotel de graça. É sempre bom entrar no site do hotel e confirmar se ele oferece essa opção. Para pegar esses shuttle é só esperar em baixo da placa vermelha localizada em frente de cada terminal no piso inferior/ chegada.
Great post. My boyfriend and I are going to LAX this weekend and have been debating the best way to get there. Normally we use The Parking Spot , which is great for short term trips, but as we will be gone six weeks, we need a shuttle or limo service. I ve never heard of roadrunner and will check them out. Thanks for the tip! I ve had bad luck with the Van Nuys Flyway and Super Shuttle.
Not related to transportation, but a tip regarding LAX- Avoid eating at the Ruby s in LAX. Overpriced even by airport standards and it has slow service with mediocre food. We learned that hard lesson a few weeks ago!
