There's a Tenya restaurant in front of Nippori station. Its tendon set is our favourite since the 20

We were in Tokyo last March for one week holiday. After arrival at Narita Airport, we took Keisei Skyliner train to Nippori, where our hotel is located. The journey from airport to Nippori Station took around 30 minutes. Outside the station, it was drizzling but we decided to brave the rain and walk to our accommodation. It's not easy because we carry two huge trolley bags, a back pack, and a child in stroller but luckily the hotel is just 400 meters away. We reached the front door relatively intact.
In this trip, we choose to stay at Hotel Mystays Nippori . It is a budget hotel chain but the room is comfortable and equipped with all the basic necessities such as attached bathroom with towels and toiletries, hair dryers, heater and air-condition, tv (only Japanese channel though), internet, kettle, fridge, microwave, even a small electric stove. Similar to Tune Hotel brand that we have in Malaysia, minus the extra payment for those 'add-ons'. We love the facilities especially microwave top travel sites oven. On some nights, we were too tired to eat at restaurant, so we bought packs of ready-to-eat meals from a nearby Family Mart, and dinner in our room. There's also coin operated top travel sites laundry and a small dining area (complete with vending machines selling drinks and cup noodles) at ground level. Staff at the reception counter are polite and speak basic English. We booked through hotel's website, the rate was only JPY 6000 per night for a semi-double room. That's roughly about MYR 180 per night, much cheaper than the average hotel price in Tokyo. Although Nippori is a bit out of the main tourist area, it is connected with the ever useful JR Yamanote Line, making it a convenient base for travelling around Tokyo.
We arrived few hours before check-in time and the room was not ready yet so we left our luggage and went out to explore Nippori, which is famously known as Fabric Town. True to its name, there are rows after rows of shoplots selling various kind of textiles. One of the popular shop is 'Tomato', with several floors of textile products, mostly fabric rolls of various quality as cheap as JPY 100/meter. We bought some for ourselves, and as souvenirs for friends and relatives.
There's a Tenya restaurant in front of Nippori station. Its tendon top travel sites set is our favourite since the 2011 trip. Meal price has not change so much since the last time we ate there, about JPY 900 per set which includes drinks (hot or chilled Japanese tea). Its vegetables and seafood tempura are as tasty and crunchy as before.
Finished the lunch, top travel sites we walked back to hotel and our room is ready. The smiling top travel sites receptionist top travel sites handed top travel sites us two key cards, our trolley bags were already waiting for us upstairs. Excellent service. We've been travelling for more than 24 hours and felt relieved to finally be in the hotel room. After hot shower, all of us fell asleep until late evening. A proper bed beats sleeping on airplane top travel sites seat anytime.
That night, we went out again to Ikebukuro. It is located a few minutes away by local train, without having to switch line. As I mentioned earlier, Nippori Station top travel sites is part of JR Yamanote Line which covered most of Tokyo's main areas. Unfortunately the weather was not with us during this first day. It was still raining, more heavily this time. We ended up exploring the Tobu department store (which is connected to Ikebukuro Station) and had dinner there. On the way back, we found a Lush Soap outlet (her favourite) and bought a few bars. Only a few made it back to Malaysia, the rest were used within the week.
