Thanks for responding. They're not the kind of people who go to upscale hotels, so that's not the problem. They do have a tendency to choose really cheap options though and then sometimes seem surprised low fare airline tickets that they get what they pay for so to speak. I've read a lot of your positive posts about the Residence Inn. It's on the list of places we might consider for ourselves sometime. We tend to choose Hojo or Candy Cane Inn although we have tried other places over the years. My parents tend to be more about price. My dad found a summer 2013 $70 per night rate at Extended Stay and just can't let go of that. It's his vacation though not mine (although low fare airline tickets I will be down there in another hotel and meet up with he and my mom on a couple of the days). Since Extended Stay Anaheim is not a hotel I would normally consider for myself and the reviews of it were such a mixed bag, I just wanted to get a little more info about it, mostly for mom's sake. I too saw the mention of recent renovations. A poster on another board said they had a positive experience there recently, so that was an encouraging post that I shared with my mom.
