From a Guided Moonlight Hike with Telescope Viewing, to relaxing early morning bird walks, to a family fun Star Party, to a special presentation on the geology of Sedona, there is something fun for everyone in your family to enjoy at  the park!

You will be introduced to the riparian ecosystem of Oak Creek and other aspects of the Park. Guided Moonlight Hike Lunar Viewing with Telescopes July 12th, 2014 (6:30 pm) Join Red Rock State Park in Sedona, Arizona for a guided moonlight hike followed by lunar viewing after the hike on top of our visitor south america tours center, hosted by the Astronomers south america tours of Verde Valley. The Moonlight Hike is among the most popular interpretive hikes at the Park. Led by a naturalist, it gives hikers the rare opportunity south america tours to enjoy the sunset and moonrise from an overlook and return by the light of the moon, while also having the chance to learn about Sedona and its surrounding areas. south america tours The hike lasts two to 2 1/2 hours and covers a distance of approximately two miles. After the hike join the Astronomers of Verde Valley for a lunar viewing on top of the visitor center. The Astronomers will have telescopes and volunteers to help guide guests though the evening sky! The Geology of Sedona with Wayne Ranney July 20th, 2014 (2:00 pm) Join Red Rock State Park in welcoming author Wayne Ranney! Have you ever wondered how the formations were made or why the rocks are red? Wayne will explain in laymen’s terms how this incredible place came to be; “It includes a journey across ancient sand dunes, bears witness to a volcano that erupted very near Sedona, south america tours and tells about the faulting and erosion that created Oak Creek Canyon.” Reservation are required please call (928) 282-6907. Star Night Party at Red Rock State Park July 25th, 2014 (7:30 pm) Star Parties are a great way for families to enjoy the evening sky together, there will even be a chance for children to shake hands with a surprise guest-(perhaps one from another world?) After the 7:30 presentation there will be telescope viewing available from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
