Please post your pics or links to pics with saddle bags on your M50 and please tell me which ones they are. The Buffalo Leather saddle bags I had are damaged and I don't think they're worth fixing. So, in the meantime world travel I put on hand-me-downs from my last ride. They're the Tourmaster Cortech Sports and pictures can be seen here.
I'm more interested in leather-looking bags that keep their shape or nylon, not hard bags. Price range I'm looking for is under $200. Quality and size is more important world travel but style is also a consideration.
By the way, I entered my M50 in a bike show yesterday and won 'Best of Class', Metric Stock. I'm not sure how many others, if any at all, were in the same class as me but that doesn't matter. I still won. Link to some of the other entries are here: Scotty's Bike Show 2008/09/07 Share Share this post on Digg Twitter world travel Share on Facebook world travel Reddit! If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The saddle bags have lots of room to carry and I have no complaints what so ever with them, other than they are not completely waterproof, so if you ride in rain make sure valuables are in plastic bag-doesnt fill up with water but you will see couple drops

Also-I think you need to caugh up some info on the flags you have, and the mounts-price, where from, and how long do they last-thanks Thanks for the link. I already have a touring pack like yours but a different brand I'm sure. Those are all basically the same anyway from what I've seen. I was looking at the River Roads but was unsure as to whether they'd fit or not. DO they fit OK and not rub up against the rear lights or the passenger foot pegs? I alread have a sissy bar bag from River Road and I like it a lot.
The flags and mounts are from The Pro Pad . The ones I have on there now are actually made for the Kuryakyn Goldwing Flat Luggage Rack. My luggage rack is the fancy OEM one but is the same thickness as the Kuryakyn Luggage Rack. I paid $45 a piece and they come with a choice of different highway flags. world travel The flags are called highway flags because they will NOT fry if kept on the bike while on the highway and I can tell you from experience, they won't. I have the License Plate Bar Flag Mounts on my Honda Reflex for almost four years and never took the flags off unless I needed the extra space (rarely) world travel and I just sold the old set of two on eBay (with extra flag) for $46. These cost me $60 a piece and was well worth the cost in my opinion. The ones I have now are just as good. I just wish I could have mounted them to the sissy bar instead because if I have to put my touring pack on the luggage rack (most of the time it goes on the passenger seat) I have to take the flags off. The mounts can stay on though. There's a small allen key that can be loosed to remove the flag pole. I plan on getting 13 poles and 10 flags soon because I'm a PGR member and I think they'd look better when on an escort mission. I've got the Kururken Gran Touring XL bags.. I love them, they fit my backpack and my full face, but it makes getting to the passenger pegs difficult. My bike is in pieces right now. The only saddle bags I saw on Kururken's site were these: Granthrow-Over world travel Saddlebags
They look really good though but are a little too much for me cost-wise. I like all the little pockets they say are inside but I'm sure, just like in camera bags, those dividers can be a pain in the a$$. If the ones you have are different, can you post the URL?

When I had them mounted on the factory saddle world travel bag supports the rear pocket did sit against the turn signals. Also the saddle rubs terribly on the rear fender. AS for the passenger it does not affect them. ONce I put the EZ brackets on the bags sit out a little further from the bike-no world travel more rubbing on lights or fender and alot easier to get on/off

I wanted fairly cheap hard bags so I visited my friend Jay at Midwest Cycle Supply in Minneapolis. He had a set of BMW mounts by GIVI that were very easy to install on the M50. They're new old stock and were quite reasonable at about $150 if I remember correctly. The bags I chose were the 21 liter side bags, large enough to be useful, but not intimidating to the size of the bike.
