Enterprise Holdings announced last week the promotion of Christine Taylor-Broughton to senior vice president hotels in south beach of North American operations, succeeding Matthew G. Darrah who announced earlier this year he is retiring from the company after 29 years of distinguished service.
The appointment is effective immediately. In her new role, Taylor-Broughton will oversee all of Enterprise Holdings operations in the United States, hotels in south beach Canada and Puerto hotels in south beach Rico, including a network of approximately 6,000 neighborhood and airport rental branch offices. She will report directly to President and Chief Operating Officer Pamela Nicholson.
This appointment represents a significant milestone for the Taylors and for the Enterprise family overall, Nicholson said. Chrissy is a member of the third generation of the Taylor family hotels in south beach involved in the ownership and management of the company. She has spent 13 years learning its business operations, disciplines and strategies, and is now ready to take on this key leadership role.
Taylor-Broughton s grandfather, Jack Taylor, founded the company in 1957. Jack s son and Taylor-Broughton s father, Andrew C. Taylor, succeeded hotels in south beach him in 1980. Taylor-Broughton joined Enterprise Rent-A-Car s management training program in 2000 and worked hotels in south beach at several different rental locations, learning everything from managing inventory to profit/loss statements and staffing. Transitioning in 2003 to Enterprise s corporate headquarters, she was appointed corporate rental manager helping to oversee regional operations throughout the United States.
In 2006, Taylor-Broughton relocated to London to further develop Enterprise Rent-A-Car s market in the U.K., Germany and Ireland. She was promoted to assistant vice president of rental soon thereafter, and in 2008 returned to St. Louis, where she focused on developing e-commerce initiatives for Enterprise Holdings National and Alamo brands. Upon receiving her MBA from Washington University in St. Louis in 2010, Taylor-Broughton joined Enterprise Holdings treasury group, hotels in south beach where she assisted in the financial restructuring of the company s fleet management business. She joined Enterprise car sales in August of 2011, and one year later was promoted to vice president, overseeing all aspects of the car-sales retail operations.
