While Staybridge Suites and Holiday Inn are in the same building, and are both part of Intercontinental Hotel Group (IHG), they were designed as two properties and cater for different markets. Staybridge Suites is intended as a second home for business travelers, Holiday Inn caters for the leisure market and short-term holiday-makers. Both hotels benefit from excellent transport links nearby including Stratford International Rail Station, Underground and DLR.
Holiday Inn is also managing the 11 residential blocks for the 17,000 world class athletes at the London 2012 Athletes' Village and this is the first time a hotel company has been chosen for this responsibility. The Athletes' Village needs to feel like a home from home so it makes sense to have a hotel company who are experts in hospitality.
