American Airlines spokesman Kent Powell said Tuesday that the airline is trying to resolve the issue


Update 4:22 p.m. American Airlines said it has re-started flights out of its hubs and overseas. The airline said there will be a small number of cancellations on Wednesday. None of the cancellations will occur at Southern California airports, said spokeswoman Mary Frances Fagan.
American also said in a statement that it will add flights as needed on Wednesday to ensure our customers are able to continue their travels. The statement didn t indicate where American plans to add flights.
American discount rome hotel asked the Federal Aviation Administration to halt its flights until 2 p.m. Pacific time. Flights on regional affiliate American Eagle heading to Dallas, Chicago or New York s LaGuardia Airport have been stopped until 12:30 p.m. Pacific time.
Some passengers were stuck at the airport while others couldn t make reservations. In Southern California, at least three flights out of LAX were cancelled and at least seven flights were cancelled at John Wayne Airport in Orange County.
American Airlines spokesman Kent Powell said Tuesday that the airline is trying to resolve the issues as quickly as it can. The airline said impacted passengers can change their flight at no charge or get a full refund.
