If so it is possible it is the clock spring or spiral cable (same thing) is the issue. It is the ring that goes around the steering shaft right under the steering wheel that allows the steering wheel to rotate and still connect to the rest of the car. So horn, cruise, airbags are all running through this circuit. It is possible for the chord to break in one spot first (possibly cruise best western hotels canada circuit). Had this happen once. First got a airbag light, then later I lost cruise and the horn stopped functioning. Replaced the clock spring/spiral cable and it fixed all the issues. This commonly needs to be replaced w/100k + miles on alot of cars. May not be your issue, but a possibility.
