Exit 0 International Jazz Festival is happy to report the Exit 0 Jazz Fest is taking place as scheduled November 9-11, 2012 even though New Jersey was hit by Sandy. We know so many of our fellow New Jerseyans and Mid Atlantic neighbors are struggling with basic services and the economic and emotional toll of being displaced. We, ourselves, dealt with much of the same trauma upon being displaced by Katrina so we understand completely our thoughts and prayers are with you.
In our time of need more than seven years ago, it was New Jersey New York that stepped up big time for my son and me. It was Cape May that opened its heart and rolled out the welcome mat for us with offers of a home to live, clothes, food, and so much warmth and hospitality that we found it hard to believe we had left New Orleans behind. Now, more than seven years later we get to repay some of that hospitality.
Cape May is up and running and in good shape. We have hotels at great rates for the Festival, wonderful travel magazines restaurants, and a lineup of artists that rivals the major festivals in the world.
