The rooms that have a king-size bed are large enough for a rollaway bed, even though they also have a sofa bed, desk with chair, side chair and coffee table all within the room. Double rooms have double beds, not Queens - this was my only complaint. All rooms have a single cup coffee pot with Starbucks coffee provided daily. There are two towers - request the North Tower. This is where you ll find the meeting rooms, pool, Jacuzzi and workout areas.The two towers are round, and connected by the lobby, so there are not many rooms on each floor. The North Tower has 48 floors with many of the rooms featuring water views.
President Obama was in our hotel for one night while I was there. The hotel staff served us candy, cookies, granola lowest car rental rates bars and even thanked us for our patience due to the inconvenience and additional security measures that we had to follow. To most of us, it was just fun being right in the middle of the political news.
Seattle has a wonderful transit system and much of it is FREE. The hotel is 1 block from the monorail that goes from the Chinatown area to the Space Needle (catch it at Westlake Center). There is also a Light-Rail system (FREE from 7AM - 7PM) that is underground in the downtown area. It also goes to Sea-Tac airport for under $3. There is also a FREE bus system that goes throughout the downtown area.
Restaurant options are unlimited, and many are within walking distance of the hotel. The concierge staff is most helpful. The hotel also has a bar menu from 5:15PM - 7:15PM with small plates and $5 glasses of wine. All in all, this was a positive experience.
