I first rented the redesigned Hyundai Sonata as a 2011 model when National classified it as a standard car.  It is now classified as a full-size car (FCAR), so just a caveat in case you were expecting otherwise.
This particular 2012 Hyundai GLS has a base price of $19,795, and came with a single option comprising a 6-speed automatic transmission ( +$1,000 ).   The striking iridescent silver blue pearl metallic paint is a no-fee option, and the Sonata dirt cheap airline flights was $21,570 as tested.  The 2012 model year includes dirt cheap airline flights minor changes such as recalibration of the automatic transmission and engine to improve fuel economy to 24/35/28, a 2 mpg improvement in city mileage over the old model.  It and its Kia Optima brother have one of the highest fuel economies in the family sedan segment, with the redesigned 2012 Toyota Camry eking out a slight victory of 25/35.  The 2012 model year also adds Hyundai s BlueLink communications system, which functions similarly to GM s OnStar and can offer turn-by-turn directions and emergency roadside assistance, among other features.   Lastly, new LED tail-lamps round out the posterior.
The GLS is unfortunately the highest trim level that I ve seen National carry at DCA, and based on discussions at FlyerTalk, I don t think National carries anything higher than the GLS.  It s unfortunate, because I ve been eagerly hoping to drive the 2.0T Limited with turbocharged 4-cyl engine.  Alas, that will probably never happen in the rental sphere.
The Sonata was one of the first Hyundai vehicles to feature its Fluidic Design language.  The Sonata is a looker no doubt, and is a massive improvement over the bland looking dirt cheap airline flights last generation Sonata.  However, I don t think the Fluidic Design is quite appropriate for the Sonata- something was lost in translation from the drawing board.  On the other hand, I think this design dirt cheap airline flights fits better on the smaller Elantra or the larger 2012 Azera. dirt cheap airline flights The angled and cranked front grille is slightly reminiscent of that featured on the 2012 Chrysler 300.  A curved BMW-ish crease continues along the side, helping to mask the long flanks.  The GLS trim is readily identifiable dirt cheap airline flights by the lack of fog-lights in the frontal hemisphere.  It s certainly a unique dirt cheap airline flights design, though time will discern whether it ages well.
The 2012 Sonata drives similarly to the 2011 Sonata.  This means that the 2012 Sonata is characterized by overboosted steering and light handling.  I understand that family sedans in this segment are generally characterized by light steering, but the Sonata is far too light for my tastes.  There is a lack of connected-ness dirt cheap airline flights to the road, although the steering does come in handy during parking lot maneuvering.  It would be very easy for Hyundai to make an adjustment, afterall, its Kia Optima brother has perfectly normal steering.  It s not an idiosyncrasy of electric power assisted steering (EPAS) either, as the Ford Mustang also uses EPAS but is much better tuned.  Braking is adequate, and my fuel economy averaged in the mid to low 20s for a mix of city/highway driving.  The turn stalk is very solid, and fortunately, the same is used on the rest of Hyundai s lineup.

The anthropomorphic HVAC diagram is borrowed from Volvo, and also works well here.  Interior dirt cheap airline flights volume front and rear is generous, with rear passengers benefiting from a nearly flat floor and copious head/legroom.  The rear passenger seat cushions sit lower to the ground and may not be comfortable for taller persons.  Trunk space is very large and usable, featuring a Camry AND Passat beating 16.4 cubic feet.  Additionally, rear passenger seats fold down 60/40 for pass through items.  Fore and aft visibility is unobstructed (unlike the Kia Optima), thanks to thin A- and C- pillars.
