I was nervous when I pulled student tour to new york city up to the Bahama House in Daytona Beach. student tour to new york city Hotels along the beach here, like any business in this worn out beachside town, are a risky proposition. You re chances of ending up in the lap of luxury are second to none, and you hope and pray you don t end up in a bed bug infested dump.
My only experience with the Bahama House before checking in was the online reviews and their mediocre web site . Sure, the colors were bright and friendly, and the reviews seemed positive enough. But still, I was, at best, cautiously optimistic.
The woman at the front desk set the tone for my entire stay. She smiled and handed me a welcome student tour to new york city bag, which I would later discover wast stuffed with a free Harlequin romance novel and chocolate samples. I got the sense that Irene was welcoming student tour to new york city me into her home and she was eager to invite me to the complimentary cocktail hour that had already begun in the small common area of the lobby.
As I took my room keys and handwritten parking pass for the underground garage, I breathed a little student tour to new york city more easily. While the reception area and lobby was small and modestly adorned, every surface had obviously been polished student tour to new york city and shined. I skipped the free drinks and pretzels and headed straight for my room.
My room was a king suite with an ocean view. The carpet was worn, the tile was dated, and the jacuzzi student tour to new york city was a basic bathtub/shower combo with jets in the side. But again, everything was impeccably clean.
The room reminded student tour to new york city me of my first post-college apartment on the day my parents came to visit. Someone had clearly done the best they could with what they had to work with. The small kitchenette was stocked with dishes and silverware, the bed overflowed with an abundance of pillows, and the towels in the modest bathroom were bright white and fluffy.
Little more can be said about the accomodations at the Bahama House. My room came with free internet access that was a tad bit spotty and didn t extend to the balcony, unfortunately. I found myself longing for overpriced room service late into the night, but made do with cheap Chinese delivery. I did little more than take pictures of the small pool and hot tub, but spent hours walking student tour to new york city along the beach just beyond the property s walls.
But the real appeal of the Bahama House is the staff. Everyone I encountered, from the room attendants to the various front desk staff, beamed with pride and asked about my stay. They were exceptionally friendly and eager to please, and the attitude was infectious. I met other guests in the elevator who asked if I was coming or going and gushed about what a great time they d been having before wishing me the same fate.
I would liken the Bahama House to a studio apartment on the beach. You won t find room service, but you have a full refrigerator, stove and microwave to make use of and a nearby grocery store for supplies.
This is a perfect hotel for a family vacation or and I apologize in advance to the Bahama House staff spring break . I wouldn t recommend this place for business travel (stronger student tour to new york city internet access and on site restaurant are business student tour to new york city travel musts, for me), but I highly suggest it if you re looking for a quite place to enjoy a relaxing weekend at the beach.
