There are some hotels that, upon arrival, immediately make the guest feel at home. One of these is the Mark Hopkins in San Francisco, an InterContinental property I like to visit whenever possible. Over the past decade I’ve stayed here many times and the three main attractions for me are the view from the Top of the Mark, the view from the rooms, and the executive lounge on the ground floor.
After a quick and pleasant transcontinental flight from New York, I arrived at the Mark, albeit with some concerns. In April, the hotel had announced it had made significant changes to one of my favorite parts of the hotel, the executive lounge.
The living room had a seating area with a large sofa and several chairs, an inviting place for an informal meeting or for entertaining. Beyond was a table serving both as a desk and dining area for four, making travel to vietnam it suitable for a more formal gathering.
